Are you adventurous? More than Bear Grylls or Columbus? And in what sense? Travel, taking a leap of faith and starting a new job, approaching that special someone, baking your first cake, jumping off a cliff, riding a bike in London, or even stopping your daily routine and deciding to take a few weeks off to rest.

I believe adventure is defined differently for everyone… and something you find exciting might be super boring for another.

I have decided to travel more this year… trying to see a different place each month. Living in Europe, I think I am very fortunate to be able to do this – jumping on a cheap Ryanair flight and booking an Airbnb is all it takes. But why? Why would I decide to do this – delayed flights, long nights and early mornings – sounds awful, no?

But I tell you why – we take most moments in life, when we are free and healthy, for granted.

Life has not always been easy for me, my family and friends and most certainly won’t always be – but there is beauty and freedom out there that needs to be explored. And even more so – you will explore yourself. Learn what’s in you, what you are capable of, what you hate doing or even can't do. You might want to spend most of your time by yourself, or you come across people that give you new perspectives, challenge you in areas such as politics, technology, economy and our environment.

And write it down, take pictures, pick up that seashell, talk to the local people (with hands and feet, if needs be) and look up, look down, look left and right and not at your phone. Breath in and out, jump up and down and fall sometimes. Feel the salty air on your skin or cold breeze from the wind - make the world smile a bit more. But do it all, because when the movement has come, that your adventure has finished, you have the memories, friends and little souvenirs that remind you of who you are and what makes you come alive.

Now, my last trip was to our family home in Croatia. I have been there a lot of times and it has a very special place in my heart. One of my favourite things to do, is to go to the fish market early in the morning and buy fresh fish, caught the night before. We then grill the fish on our bbq in the evening. We add good wine, games, friends, family and music and the evening turns into one of those moments that you'll never want to exit.

The recipe below is simple, but as so often, best things come simple and straight forward. I devote this to my brother, Simon, who truly is one of the most adventures people I know.

How it’s done:

Buy a fresh whole white fish (whichever fish you like – I love seabass or similar)

Stuff it with lemon/lime, parsley and chopped garlic

Drizzle with Olive Oil from the outside

Put on the BBQ

Turn every 7 minutes

After about 15 minutes the fish is cooked through and the skin nice and crisp

Drizzle again with Olive Oil

AND

Eat up!

Best accomplished with simply bread and any fresh vegetables that are in season
